George H. Stewart ws the only son of Robert an Mary Phelps Stewart. Aside 
from teaching several terms of school in rural districts, his life was spent 
on the farm in Bloomer township where he was born.

He died in Ann Arbor hospital February 22, 1936, of a dropsical condition 
resulting in pneumonia. He leaves three sisters; Nettie Steward Pitcher of 
Sheridan, Edith Stewart Eliot of Lansing, and Edna Stewart Sessions of 
Detroit, who will miss him.

The funeral services were held at the F.S. Caswell funeral home last week 
Wednesday afternoon, Rev. J.E. Lockyer officiating.  His remains were placed 
temporarily in a vault in an Ionia cemetery and interment will later be made 
in the Woodward (Woodard) Lake cemetery.
