                       Beatrice Ione Stewart

Beatrice Ionia Stewart was born Aug. 11, 1912 in Lyons the daughter of Samuel 
and Mabel (Randall) Riker. Her mother passed away when she was a small girl so 
she, her sister Gladys and brother Clyde were raised by their grandparents until 
their father remarried Alta Dailey. According to her cousin, Marion Fish, 
Beatrice was the oldest living member of the Riker family.

Bea married Kenneth W.Stewart on hr nineteenth birthday, Aug. 11, 1931 in 
Angola,Ind. with their friends, Marvin and Lucille Schmidt in attendance.They 
lived most of their life in Muir. Bea has lived over 70 years in her home on 
Ionia Street. Kenneth and Bea were married 54 years when Kenneth passed away in 
1985.The marriage produced 4 sons, Kenneth Jr., Clyde R., Charles J. and John L. 
Bea held many "jobs over the years, retiring in 1975 from the U.S. Post Office 
in Muir. her most treasured "job" was the one of being Wife, Mother, Grandma and 
Great-Grandma.

Surviving her are her sons and then their names,Clyde (Kathy) of Muir, Charles 
(Laura) of Muir and John (Sally) of Saranac; seven grandchildren and 10 great-
grandchildren-Jeff (Lisa) Stewart and children Justin and Olivia. Mark (Lee Ann) 
Wilson and their children, Chelsea and Tylor, Scott (Cathleen)Taylor and their 
children, Brittny, Gage and Trey, C.J.(Nicole) Stewart ad their son, Colin, 
Spencer (Julie) Steward and their sons Terrick and Gavin,Nicole (Special friends 
Pat Tichvon)Stewart. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins, 
including special cousin Marion Fish and sister-in-law Paula Riker of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth William her parents Samuel and 
Alta Riker, son Kenneth Jr., sister Gladys, brothers, Clyde and Hubert, and 
sisters-n-law Bernice Dutcher and Maxine Robertson.

A celebration of lIfe will be Saturday, Feb.6, 2010, 1 p.m. at First Christian 
Church in Muir with Pastor Greg Gladding officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 
Feb. 5 2010 from 2-4 and 6 -8 p.m at Lake Funeral Home in Muir.Burial will be in 
Oakwood Cemetery in Muir. Online condolences may be made at
