The Portland Review, Thursday, November 30, 1939

Benton Stiffler, 87, died Wednesday forenoon at the home of his brother, 
Warren Stiffler, on the Portland townline road southwest of Portland, where he 
had made his home several years.  He was born in Ohio, but came to Danby at an 
early age with his parents, and was widely known in the locality.  His wife 
died six year ago, and there are no surviving children.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 at the Bandfield chapel 
and burial will be in Danby cemetery.
