The Ionia Weekly Standard, Friday, March 16, 1888
Jacob Stifler, one of the prominent residents of the township of Danby, died 
at his home in that township on Thursday morning last, in the 55th years of 
his age.  Mr. Stifler came to Danby thirty-two years ago, and has always been 
a good citizen.  His funeral occurred on Saturday last and the remains were 
taken to Portland for burial.
