Ionia Sentinel Standard, 14 Oct 1999

Ida C. Stiles, 89, of Ionia, passed away Oct. 12, 1999, at Heartland Health Care
Center.  She was born Feb. 23, 1910, in Broadlin, South Dakota, the daughter of
Charles and Ida (Rasehke) Witmar.  She married Howard Stiles Jan. 4, 1928, in
Ionia County.  She was a member of Lincoln Baptist Church.  She retired from
Mitchell Bentley Co. in Ionia.

She is survived by her sons, Charles and Janice Stiles of Ionia and Dale and
Carol Stiles of Ionia; daughters, Joyce and Dee Yaw of Saranac, and Particia and
Lyle Stalter of Clarksville; 22 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren and 13
great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard in
1982; daughter, Jean Ann; son, Howard Jr.; four grandchildren; one
great-granddaughter; two brothers and two sisters.

Services for Mrs. Stiles will be held on Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, at 2 p.m. at the
Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Pastor Darren Tharp of Lincoln Baptist Church
officiating.  Interment will be in Lyons Cemetery.  Visitation  will be on
Thursday from 2 until 4 and 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  Anyone
wishing may make memorial contributions to Lincoln Baptist Church, Ionia
Commission on Aging or the Ionia Area Hospice.  Envelopes are available at the
funeral home.
