Excerpts from Lansing Obituary

JAMES J.STILES Sr.

Died September 11, 2025-age 72 of Portland after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Born January 18, 1953 in Jackson,MI, son of Virgil & Ada Stiles.
Graduated from Leslie High School, Class of 1972
Jim worked for the railroad during 1970s & 1980s, later worked for General 
Motors at the Fisher Body (Local #602) where he retired in 2004.
Je was a jokester at heart, known for his love of hunting, camping & fishing.
Preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Micha Stiles; his daughter, Leah 
Whitney, his father-in-law Dan Smith.
Survived by his wife of 33 years, Laura Stiles; his children Traci Whitney, 
James Stiles II, Corey (Christine) Stiles, Brandon (Tars) Logan, & Amanda Smith; 
grandchildren;Bradley (Carly), Kiah, Mikhail, Janae, Alyssa, Taven, Alex, Rora, 
Taija, Kennedy,, Keaton, Kullen, Brayden, Draven, & Layla; great-grandchildren; 
Willow & Kumari Siblings: Virgil (Wanda) Stiles.
Visitation will b on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Lehman Funeral Home in 
Portland,
Funeral will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 18, with a luncheon to 
follow at VFW in Portland.
Family will kindly ask that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in 
Jim's honor.
