The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, August 27, 1924
Jesse Stiles was born in Lyons, Ionia County, June 7, 1877 and died at a Grand 
Rapids hospital August 15, 1924 at the age of 47 years.  He was married to 
Anna Kimball November 4, 1899, who is left to survive.  Six children were 
born, all surviving, but one, who departed in infancy.  One brother and three 
sisters are left to mourn his loss.  He was a kind father and loving husband 
and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

‘Tis hard to break the tender cord 
Where love has bound the heart;
‘Tis hard so to speak the words
We must forever part.

Dearest loved one we must lay thee
In the peaceful grave embraced
But thy memory will be cherished
Till we see thy heavenly face.

We wish to express our heartfule thanks and appreciation to the many friends 
and neighbors and for the beautiful flowers, and Rev. Mather for his 
comforting words and the beautiful singing in the loss of our dear husband and 
father.
