The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, April 18, 1990

Violet Marie Stilwell, 84, of Ionia, died April 16 at her home.  Born Sept. 5, 
1905 in Ionia, she was the daughter of Wallace and Mattie Perrien. 

She attended Ionia High School.  She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran 
Church in Ionia.  She married Milton C. Stilwell Nov. 14, 1937 at St. John’s 
Lutheran Church in Gary, Ind.

Surviving are her husband Milton; a step-daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Audrey) Pitts 
of Venice, Fla.; five grandchildren, Mrs. Cliff (Toni) Allen, Mrs. Mike 
(Melody) Hume, Rick Feehan, Mrs. Steen (Tracy) Hodgkins and Scott Feehan, all 
of Ionia; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Wallace Perrien; and a sister, 
Mrs. J. (Ruth) Higbee of Ionia.  She was preceded in death by a son, Teddy 
Smith in 1940, a daughter, Mrs. LeRoy (Marilyn) Feehan in 1974, and a brother, 
Charles Perrien in 1978.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Myers Memorial Chapel 
in Ionia with the Rev. Theodore Voll of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the 
Rev. Dennis Stilwell officiating.  Burial is in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ionia Hospice or the Commission on Aging.
