Mrs. Winona M. Stilwell, 84, of Ionia, formerly of White Pine, passed away June 
30, 1999 at her home.  She was born the daughter of L. J. and Ida (Ray) Wandell 
on Oct. 24, 1914 in Ionia.  Winona graduated from Ionia High School and from 
Davenport College in Grand Rapids.  She was a member of the Eastern Star, the 
First Methodist Church in Ionia.  She married Harold Stilwell and he preceded 
her in death in 1976.

Surviving are two daughters, Judith (Michael) Shea of Clinton Twp. and Marcia 
(Bert) Laurain of Ortonville; four grandchildren, Beverly Fry, Marcus Shea, 
Wendy Johnson and Denise Trasher; four great-grandchildren, Ryan, Haley, Aiden 
and Patrick.  She was preceded in death by one sister, Ferne Hackett on May 30, 
1993.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday from the Cook Funeral Home 
in downtown Ionia with Rev. Lawrence Hodge from the First United Methodist 
Church officiating.  Interment in Easton Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be from 
7 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday at the Rich St. Chapel of Cook Funeral Home.  Memorial 
contributions can be made to the Ionia Area Hospice in care of Cook Funeral 
Home.
