Ionia Sentinel Standard, 10 Oct 1955

Corel A. Stilwell, 78, of 210 Kimball Court died Monday morning at Ionia County
Memorial Hospital after being admitted Sunday evening.  Mr. Stilwell was born in
Galesburg, the son of Charles and Mary Stilwell, February 6, 1877.  He lived his
early life in Galesburg and Hamilton and worked in a store there.  He later
became a cabinetmaker and upholsterer.  In 1900 he married Della Jones of
Sheridan and in 1912 came to Ionia.  He was a member of the First Methodist church.

Surviving are his wife, Della, five sons, Milton and Merritt of Ionia, Charles
and Harold of Grand Rapids and Melvyn of Seattle, Wash., two daughters, Mrs.
Dorothy Courser of Garden City and Mrs. Kenneth Smith of Ionia; sixteen
grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one brother, Leon of Greenville.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the
Stone-Kauffman funeral home.  The Rev. Heath T. Goodwin will officiate and
burial will be at Oak Hill cemetery.
