One of the pioneers of this township, Interested in Church, State and Farm Interests. Henry Stinchcomb, one of the pioneers of this township, who has been in poor health for a number of years but able to "get to town" until this winter, closed his earthly career Sunday. Mr. Stinchcomb was a man of ideas. He was intently interested in government and the problems of religion, of farm life. He was an active member of the U.B. Church and the Farmer's club as long s that organization functioned. His farm was nicely located and managed. He took great interest in fruit raising in his later years. He was especially fond of his two little grand-sons left by the daughter Evelyn. OBITUARY Henry Stinchcomb was born at Bloomville, Seneca County, Ohio, October 3, 1842 and was the son of John and Barbara Stinchcomb. He was the last of ten children to depart this life, passing away Sunday morning at nine o'clock, March 10, at the home where he had lived for forty-one years.Mr Stinchcomb was a graduate of Heidelberg College in Ohio and for several years was a school teacher. Coming to Michigan about 1868 he purchased and cleared a tract of land near Woodland. Here he met and married Anna M.Flower, June 28, 1871. To this union four children were born, James Luellen, who is left to mourn his father, Cora Anna passed away at the age of six years, Evelyn Flower passed away 1923, leaving two children, Frank passed away at age of six months. Anna N. Stinchcomb departed this life November 13, 1883. In 1886 Mr.Stinchcomb was united to Elizabeth Egbert, Tiffin, Ohio, who preceded him in death in 1896. Since that time Mr.Stichcomb and son Luellen have lived alone on their farm, east of Lake Odessa. Mr. Stinchcomb was a life long member of the united Brethren Church. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C.N. Stormes from the church parlors at 2 p.m. Burial was made at LakeSide cemetery. His last words were "Lord Jesus, come, come quickly."
