Mrs. Mary Stine received a telegram Monday that her son, Edward, of Creed, Colorado, had been kicked by a horse, and died in the hospital Sunday. The remains arrived yesterday, and the funeral will be held from the Methodist church, this morning at 10 o’clock, Rev. Joseph Cook officiating, burial at Lakeside cemetery. Mr. Stine was kicked while trying to hitch the horse, receiving the blow in the small of the back, the accident occurring Thursday, July 18. The remains were accompanied on the long journey by A. D. Parsons for whom Mr. Stine was working. Mr. Stine enlisted in the 35th Mich. Infantry from Ionia county during the Spanish war. Mr. Stine was a baker by trade and up to last fall was in Jackson. When he went west, he was 28 years old. Besides his mother he leaves two brother and two sisters. Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were, Mr. and Mrs. George Burdick and Ada Stine of Jackson; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stine and son Clyde, Mr. and Mrs. Will Stine, and Mrs. Herte??
