Ionia Daily Sentinel, 23 Jan 1943

Peter J. Stites, 76, died Saturday morning at 11:30 o’clock at his home at 475 
State street, after an illness of several weeks.  He was born March 11, 1866, 
in Ohio.  He had lived on a farm in Ronald township for the past 25 years.

Surviving him besides his wife, Shirley, are five children, Harvey, of Palo; 
Margaret of Kalamazoo; Ida of Deford; Edna of Kalamazoo and Burdick, with the 
U.S. army stationed in Texas; one half brother, Leon Page.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Myers 
funeral home.  Rev. George Woolcock of the First Baptist church will officiate 
and burial will be in Palo cemetery.
