Funeral services were held at the residence Wednesday afternoon, in charge of Rev. J. H. Bancroft. Burial was made in Danby cemetery. Mr. Stockwell was one of Danby township’s pioneer settlers. He was born in Indiana and wen a young man came to Danby where he followed farming until a few years ago when he moved to Grand Ledge. Five years ago he came to Portland, residing here since. Had he lived until the 20th of next month he would have been 70 years of age. Besides his widow he is survived by one son, Clarence Stockwell, of Detroit.
