Stoddard, of Muir, died at his home early Monday morning of heart disease. Surviving him are his widow, a daughter, Miss Evan Stoddard, two sisters, Mrs. Clara Stoddard, of Muir, and Mrs. Emma Ross, of Jackson, and a brother, Caleb Stoddard, of Muir. Mr. Stoddard was 66 years of age. He was born in Muir and had always lived here. He began his business life as a clerk in the hardware store of Probasco and Greenwodo, which he later owned through purchase of the interests of his father-in-law, Capt. J.O. Probasco. Some years ago the business was sold by Mr. Stoddard to Sturgis and Brenneman, and has changed hands several times since. Upon disposing of the store Mr. Stoddard became interested in the Muir bank, of which he was president at the time it was placed in the hands of a receiver a week ago Tuesday. Funeral arrangements are awaiting word from Mrs. Stoddard’s brother, Harry Probasco, who is in the west.
