Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Wed. March 11, 1987

IONIA- Ambrose C. Stoddard, 77, of 331 Morse Street, Ionia, died March 8, at 
Ionia Manor.

He was born September 26, 1909, in Orleans Township, the son of Charles H. and 
Nellie Belknap Stoddard.

He attended Ionia Schools.

He married Maude Conkey March 17, 1935. She preceded him in death February 2, 
1963.

On March 25, 1966, he married Jessie Moore Martin.

He was a retiree of general Tier Company. He was a former member of the Orleans 
Methodist Church and more recently a member of Zion United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Jessie, two daughters, Marcia McCoy and Deanna 
Helmer, both of Ionia; two sons, George of Midland, and Edward of Kansas; 10 
grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Rich Street Chapel of the 
Montgomry funeral Home, with the Rev. William Dornbush officiating. 

Burial will be at Lake Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Orleans or the Zion United Methodist 
Church.
