April 16, 1957 The funeral of Mrs. Edna M. Stoddard, 21, Washington (Macomb County), who was killed Friday night April 10, in a traffic accident there, was held Tuesday, April 14, at 1:00 p.m. at the Shaw-Rivett funeral home, Muir. Burial was at Pierson. Bearers were: Phillip Carson, Phillip Carson Jr., Charles Hayward, William Jeffers, Ashman Stoddard and Alan Stoddard. According to Romeo post state police, Mrs. Stoddard was killed when her car went out of control and hit a tree in Washington township about 10:30 p.m. Friday. She was dead on arrival at the Community hospital, Romeo. Officers said she was alone in the car at the time of the accident. She was born June 22, 1937 in Laingsburg, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. DeLoss Vanburger. Surviving are the husband, Glenn; two sons, Glenn, Jr. and David Scott; her mother, Mrs. John Babcock, who now lives in Minnesota; two sisters, Mrs. Patricia Boyles of Azusa, California, and Mary Lou Babcock of Bemidji, Minnesota, her father, DeLoss Vanburger of Paw Paw, and her grandmother, Mrs. Warren Russell of St. Johns.
