Mrs. Orin Stone, 69, 151 East Washington St., died early Tuesday morning, July 
13, following several months of failing health.  The former Blanche M. Hoy, 
Mrs. Stone was born in Johnsonburg, New York, on May 10, 1879.  She was the 
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Hoy, prominent cheese manufacturers of Western 
New York.

August 20, 1903, she was married to Orin Stone and all of their married life 
has been spent in Ionia.  A member of the Church of Christ, Mrs. Stone took a 
keen interest in the work of the church and its women’s organizations of which 
she was an active member.  She was also a member of Queen Ester Chapter 
O.E.S., Steven Thomson Mason Chapter, D.A.R., the Ionia Garden Club and the 
Ionia Women’s Literary Club.

Surviving Mrs. Stone are her husband, Orin Stone; a daughter, Mrs. Dale 
Kauffman and three grandchildren.

Rev. Wayne Davis will officiate at the funeral service, which will be held 
from the home at three o’clock Friday afternoon, with burial in Highland Park 
cemetery.  Rev. Paul L. Stewart will assist Rev. Davis.  Pall bearers will be 
George Vance, Herman Hoople, Albert Lemke, Fran Judevine, Ernest Chase and 
Foss Eldred.
