Delores Jane Stone, 85, of Fremont, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at her
home.  Jane was born March 17, 1920, in Belding, to Leslie C. and Lydia Gantz Yost.

She graduated from Carson City High School and later attended and graduated from
Central Michigan University with a degree in education.  She started teaching at
Coopersville High School and later retired after many years of teaching math at
the Fruitport High School in 1973.  She married Carl F. Stone on April 13, 1945,
in Fruitport.  Jane has been a resident of the Fremont area since 1988 when she
moved from the Bear Lake area.  She was a member of the Michigan Retired
Teachers Association and was a member of First Congregational United Church of
Christ in Fremont, where she was an active member and member of the choir and
Women’s Fellowship.  Jane loved music, was an accomplished pianist and was loved
for her quiet serving manner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, in 1983; and brother, William. 
She is survived by her children, Janice Stone of Fremont, David and Linda Stone
of Tucson, Ariz., Richard and Linda Stone of Muscatine, Iowa; six grandchildren,
Nathan, Brian, Amanda, Daniel, Benjamin and Michael; and great-granddaughter,
Alice.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Congregational United Church of
Christ.  Interment is in Fruitport Cemetery.  Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m.
Tuesday at Crandell Funeral Home, Fremont Chapel.  Memorial contributions may be
made to First Congregational United Church of Christ.
