She was born in Ontario county, New York, October 3, 1865. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William L. Jackson, were both natives of New York state. In 1870, Mr. and Mrs. Jackson and four-year-old daughter, Jennie, moved to Michigan and settled in North Plains township on what is known as the A. C. Hayes farm. At that time, the farm was owned by N. B. Hayes and Mr. Jackson was employed as foreman of the farm. Several years later, Mr. Jackson purchased the Cheney Spaulding farm. Jennie attended both the Hayes and Case schools. May 22, 1884, she was married to Darius G. Stone at the Presbyterian manse at Muir by the late Rev. George Ransom. They moved to the farm owned by Mr. Stone’s grandfather. It was a farm which had been homesteaded from the government, and here they continued to reside for 58 years. Eight years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Stone celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with an elaborate ceremony at their home. Only four months ago they had a 58th wedding anniversary party. Surviving her are the husband, Darius; two nieces, Mrs. S. J. Corey of Owosso and Mrs. Charles Lincoln of Ionia; two nephews, Dewey Randall of Muir and Truman Stone of Monroe, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held from the farm home in Ionia township Thursday, September 17, at 2:30 o’clock. Rev. A. J. Westmaas of the First Presbyterian church will officiate and burial will be in North Plains cemetery.
