Carson City Gazette, 15 May 1908

John Stone, aged 57, died Thurs. morning, at 5:25.  He leaves a wife and two
children, Delos of this city, and Miss Lottie, living at home.  Mr. Stone was a
brother of Chas. W. and Richard Stone, well-known merchants here a few years
ago, and also of Thomas Carten’s mother.  He was born in Canada, but came to
Ionia when a mere lad.  He has followed farming most of his life, and has been
out of county more or less.  He has been living in city about three years, and
has worked with his son as painter and paper-hanger.  Funeral at the home, 674
West Main, at 10:30 Saturday morning.  Interment, Highland Park.
