Sentinel-Standard - Friday, Sept. 18, 1942

Funeral services for Mrs. Darius Stone, 76, who died suddenly Monday morning at 
her home in Ionia township after a month's illness, were held Thursday 
afternoon at the farm home at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. A.J. Westmaas of the First 
Presbyterian church officiated, and burial was in North Plains cemetery.

Pallbearers were Truman Stone, Charles Lincoln, Herman Hoople, Kenneth Randall, 
Austin Hayes and George Allen.

Those who attended from away were Mr. and Mrs. Truman Stone and family of 
Monroe, Wis.; Mrs. Jane Corey of Ypsilanti, Mrs. Ella DeGarmo of Highland Park, 
MI and Mrs. George Allen, Mrs. Bert Weed and Fred Clement, all of Portland.
