At the age of eight years she moved with her parens to Odessa township, and they settled on the farm, which is now known as the Levi Deeg farm. On February 4, 1868 she was united in marriage to John C.Stone who was a wagon maker at that time.They lived on her father's farm for five years. In 1873 they moved to Nashville and edited the Nashville News.After a few years they moved to Laingsburg where they edited the Laingsburg News for 19 years. In 1897 they moved to Lansing where she died July 5,1914, at the age of 72 years 2 months and 4 days. She was converted in early life and joined the United Brethren church, Rev. Mourer was her pastor. After removing to Lansing they withdrew from the U.B.church and united with the South Baptist church. Her remains were brought to Lake Odessa July 8, the funeral was held at the U.B.Church. Rev. Mourer, preached the funeral sermon. She was buried in the Lakeside cemetery,-at rest in the place which was once her girlhood home. She leaves one sister, Mrs.Elizabeth Van Sicklen, of this village, who faithfully helped care for her during her last sickness. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and many friends to mourn her departure.
