Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard - Mon. July 11, 1938

Mrs. Bertha Storch, wife of Henry Storch of 706 North Jefferson street, died 
very suddenly Monday morning, July 11, at 8:45 from a hemorrhage of the Lung. 
She had been in ill health since August of last year.

She was born in Germany October 8, 1867, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Karl 
Zander. She came to the United States and Ionia in April. 1883. December 2, 
1888 she was married to Henry Storch. The couple were to celebrate their 50th 
wedding anniversary on December 2 of this year. Mrs. Storch lived in her 
present home 55 years.

She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church. Services will be 
held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, preceded by prayer service at the home at 2 
o’clock. Rev. R.A. Rook of the Evangelical Lutheran church will officiate. 
Interment will be in the family lot at Highland Park cemetery.

Mrs. Storch is survived by her husband, Henry; two sons, Arthur of Detroit and 
Harry of Ionia; one daughter, Mrs. Emil Haas of Grand Rapids; six 
grandchildren, one great grandchild and two brother Karl Zander and Albert 
Zander of Ionia.
