Sentinel-Std. - Saturday, Nov. 28, 1936

The death of James D. Storey, 83, occurred Saturday morning, November 26, at 
his home at 457 King street, from cerebral hemorrhage. Although he had been 
in failing health or the past three years, he was only confined to his bed 
for ten days.

Mr. Storey was born on January 21, 1853, in Canada. Before his marriage, 
October 26, 1881, he worked in a lumber camp near Edmore. Mr. and Mrs. 
Storey had celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on October 26, 1936.

Mr. and Mrs. Storey came to Ionia from Meaford, Canada, 47 years ago. Mr. 
Storey was employed by the Sorosiss garment factory for 30 yeears. He also 
worked at the Hudson Motor company in Detroit for five years. 

He was a member of the Masons, having been tyler for many years. He also 
belonged to the Presbyterian church. 

Besides his widow, he is survived by four children, Will C. of Knox, 
Indiana, Mrs. Ethel Boardman, and Mrs. Frances Elliot of Detroit and Mrs. 
Etta Danner of Ionia. Another daughter, Jessie Hazel, died in August, 
193(?). He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. John (????) of Meaford, 
Canada.

Masonic funeral services will be held Monday afternoon, November 30, at two 
o'clock from the Bradley funeral home, For. Adam Westmaas will read the 
ceremony. Interment will be at the family lot in Highland Park cemetery.
