Lowell Ledger, 24 Jan 1901

William S. Storey, one of the old and respected citizens of this township passed
away last week Friday at the age of 82 years.  He was born in Lester, Livingston
county N.Y., Jan. 18, 1819.  He located in this township in 1848 and in 1850
moved on the farm on which he has since lived and which he improved by his own
labor.  Previous to his coming to Michigan, in the year 1844, he was married to
Harriet Davis, of New Haven, Vt., who died in 1884.  Two children, Mrs. Levi
Fletcher and Mrs. Gates L. Stannard, survive him.  Mr. Storey was a man of
generous nature and gentlemanly instincts.  He has been closely connected with
the interests of the township and in 1861 held the office of Supervisor of the
township and was charter member of Boston Grange.
