Story, 91, formerly of 1839 Nelson Avenue, Grand Rapids, died Sunday at the Provincial house in Hastings where he had been a patient since 1971. He was born June 17, 1885 in Lowell, the son of Mathew and Lunett Ware Story. Mr. Story attended rural schools in Lowell. He married the former Francis Rolf February 20, 1908 in Lowell. She preceded him in death in 1962. They lived in Lowell before moving to Ionia for a short time in 1919. After living in Ionia, they moved to Hastings until 1924 when they moved to Grand Rapids. Mr. Story was an employee of the Grand Rapids Press and was former superintendent of the swine department at the Michigan state fair. He was a member of the Grand Rapids and Ionia Livestock associations and originated the Yorkshire swine in Michigan in 1931. Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Bathea King of Clarksville; two sons Maurice of Gowen and John of Omaha, Nebraska; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Kyser of Lowell, seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services are Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Pickens-Koops funeral chapel in Clarksville. Burial is in Chapel Hill memorial gardens in Kentwood.
