Ionia Sentinel - 1 December 1994
Lillian E. (Nielsen) Stout, 85, of Ionia, died Nov. 28, 1994 at her home.  She 
was born Dec. 16, 1908, in Advance, Missouri, the daughter of Arthur and 
Charity (Wilde) Wingate.  She has been a longtime resident of the Ionia area.  
She managed the Sears & Roebuck Store in Ionia for 25 years.  She was a member 
of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 35 of Ionia, the Methodist Church of Ionia, 
and she had attended the Shiloh Community Church.  She married Orson Nielsen, 
who preceded her in death in 1953.  She married Berton Stout, who preceded her 
in death in 1970.

She is survived by two daughters;  Ada Jean (Paul) Lorentz, of Florida; 
Merelene (Don) Hull, of Fenwick; five grandchildren; David (Tonya) Hull, of 
Kalamazoo; Bryan (Janet) Hull, of Fenwick; Sue (Michael) Mathewson, of Fenwick; 
Sherry (Robert) VanderBeck, of Colorado; Denise (Terry) Ahnstedt, of Texas; and 
six great-grandchildren. 
 
Visitation will be Friday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 8:30 pm at the Stebbins and 
Simpson Funeral Home in Sheridan.  Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 pm 
at the funeral home.  Rev. Kenneth Harger will officiate.  Burial will be in 
Orleans Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
