Stout, who has been seriously ill for about nine weeks, passed away at the family home, 722 West Main street, Thursday evening at 9 o'clock. Mr. Stout, until he moved to Ionia city several years ago to make his home, was numbered among the prominent farmers of the southern part of Ionia county. He was born in Dark county, Ohio, and was 55 years of age at his death. Mr. Stout came to Michigan to live many years ago first settling in Sebewa, but since has owned several other farms south of Ionia as well as one north. Mr. Stout is survived by his widow and three children, Mrs. Lee Phelps, North Dexter street; Mrs. Katherine Heater of Orange township and Miss Ruth Stout at home. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Jane Riggs, who makes her home with Clyde Stout; and four brothers, Clyde Stout, of Ionia township; M. L. Stout of Orleans; Nathan Stout of California and Fred Stout of Grand Rapids, and a sister Mrs. Ruth Jordan of Grand Rapids. The funeral will be held from the late home Sunday afternoon at 1:30 city time, and from the Sebewa Baptist church at 2:30. Rev. Joseph H. Green will officiate. Burial will take place in the Sebewa cemetery.
