Ionia Sentinel Standard, 15 Dec 1964

Mrs. Ida Jane Stout, 98, former resident of 826 West Main street, died Monday
afternoon following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Pennsylvania, July 3, 1866 and at the age of 15 moved to Sebewa
township with her patents, Jonathan and Catherine Kauffman.  She was married
January 16, 1887 to Oscar Newton Stout who preceded her in death.  She lived for
many years on farms in Sebewa and Orange townships and moved to Ionia in 1914.

Mrs. Stout was a member of First Presbyterian church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lee Phelps of Ionia, Mrs. J. Erwin Heator of
Lyons, and Mrs. Ruth Rowald of Flint; eight grandchildren; 24
great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Stone Kauffman funeral home. 
The Rev. Wilfred G. Sawyer of First Presbyterian church will officiate and
interment will be at Sebewa Baptist cemetery.
