Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard - Thurs. July 6, 1944

Final rites for Alanson Stowell, 63-year-old Easton farmer whose body was 
recovered from Grand river early Wednesday morning, will be held Thursday 
afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Myers funeral home. Rev. A.J. Westmaas will 
officiate and burial will be in the family lot in Easton cemetery.

Mr. Stowell is survived by the widow, Emma: two sons, Ransom and Samuel 
Stowell, in the U.S. naval reserve at Great Lakes, Ill.; three daughters, Mrs. 
Emma Thompson of South Ionia, Mrs. Max Smith of Ionia, and Miss Lillian Stowell 
of Detroit; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Burr Stowell, of Easton; a sister, 
Mrs. Dexter Conner, of Ionia.
