Margaret E. (Mascho) Stowell, aged 85, of Woodland, went to be with her Lord, 
and her beloved husband on Friday morning, Oct. 10, 2008.

Margaret was born on Sept. 16, 1923 in Grand Ledge, the daughter of Lloyd and 
Jessie (Cope) Mascho. She graduated from Ionia High School in 1942, and then 
attended County Normal. She taught school for a couple of years until meeting 
and marrying her beloved husband, Russell E. Stowell, on Dec. 25, 1945. Russell 
preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 2003. Margaret enjoyed reading, crocheting, 
playing cards and her favorite pastimes of bingo and family. She was a member 
of the Woodland United Methodist Church, and a seventeen-year member of 
Woodland Aerie 3782 Auxiliary.

Margaret is survived by her five children, Sue Stowell, Doug (Susie)Stowell, 
Barb (Darell) Slater, Jim (Kathy) Stowell and Rick (Julie) Stowell; sixteen 
grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Josephine Conner and 
niece, Marcia Dalton. 

Visitation for Margaret will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12, 
2008 at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. The funeral service will be 
held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 13, 2008 at the Lakewood United Methodist 
Church. Interment will be in Woodland Memorial Park. The family has suggested 
that memorial contributions may be made to the Woodland Fire Department, or the 
Woodland Aerie 3782 Auxiliary.
