IRA STOWELL DIED IN CALIFORNIA Dr. Ira T. Stowell son of the late Dor Noble Stowell and Gertrude Tasker Stowell of Woodland passed away October 3, in San Gabriel, California, where he had been taking past graduate work for eight months. Dr. Stowell spent his early years in Woodland graduating from Hastings High School in 1928 and later from Osteopathic College in Kirksville, Missouri. For the past thirty-two years he has been in practice associated with the Stowell-Beckwith Clinic, was in 1955 named outstanding General Practitioner of the year by the Texas Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons. Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Stowell, a step-daughter Mrs Gordon Beckwith, hie mother Mrs Gertrude Stowell of Woodland and two sisters Mrs Grace Noble and Mrs Doreen Hartman both of Vicksburg and two grandchildren. He was a member of the Blue Lodge of Woodland, Masonic Lodge Alzafar Shrine of San Antonio, the Downtown Lion's Club, Sons of the American Revolutions and the Episcopal Church. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 6, at 2 p.m., Akers Chapel. Rev. Sam Capers officiating with interment in Missions Burial Park.
