Floyd Fitch officiated. Graveside rites were held by Woodland Eastern Stars. Mrs. Stowell, the former Gertrude Tasker, was born at Assyria center south of Nashville, coming to a farm near Woodland with her husband right after their marriage about 1889. After Mr. Stowell passed away in 1950 she moved into a home in Woodland. Mrs. Stowell was a charter member of the Woodland Methodist church and the church W.S.C.S. and a charter member of the Woodland Eastern Stars, also a member of the West Woodland Birthday club. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Grace) Noble and Mrs. Jack (Dorreen) Hartman, both of Vicksburg, and five grandsons, 4 granddaughters and 1 step granddaughter. Her two sons both passed away in 1956. They were Dr. Ira F. Stowell of San Antonio, Texas and Verdun of Woodland.
