June 7, 1928 JAKE STRAHLE OF NEAR IONIA DEAD The funeral of Jake Strahle, a brother-in-law of Gottleib and Emanuel Kussmaul, was held Monday at two o'clock at the home, about nine miles north of Lake Odessa. Rev. Nest of the German Lutheran church preached and burial was at Lake Side. Wortley and Baine were the undertakers. OBITUARY Jacob Julius Stahle was born on the 16th day of October, 1854 in Wuertemerg, Germany. In infancy he was brought to the Lord Jesus in holy baptism, and later was instructed in God's holy truths and confirmed. In 1880 he came to America and after spending about a year in the state of Iowa, came to Michigan and spent the remainder of his days in Barry and Ionia Counties. On the 21st day of November 1903 he was united in holy wedlock to Miss Ann Marie Kussmaul, who now survives him. The deceased had been ailing for about two years, but on May 29, he was taken seriously ill and passed away last Saturday, June the 2nd, at 6 a.m. His age amounts to 73 years, 7 month and 16 days. He leaves to mourn his departure, his bereaved wife, Mrs.Anna Marie Strahle, one sister, Mrs.Mary Kotz of Lansing and a large circle of more distant relatives and friends.
