July 21, 2018 WILLIAM A. STRIMBACK Lake Odessa, MI - William "Whit" A. Strimback, age 83, of Lake Odessa, went to be with the Lord on July 18, 2018 at Faith Hospice Trillium Woods in Byron Center. He was born on October 7, 1934 to Merrill and Beatrice (Rose) Strimback in Woodland. He proudly served in the U. S. Army. On June 15, 1957, he married Donna Lou Hyatt on the family farm in Woodland. Whit worked early on as a mechanic at Poff Lapo, later working and retiring from Bradford White's in Middleville. He loved hunting, sulky racing ponies, contesting and racing horses, but mostly he loved spending time with his family. Whit is survived by his loving spouse of 61 years, Donna; daughters, Connie (Ronald) Jordan, Sharon (Michael) Rohrbacher of Lake Odessa, Melinda (Dennis) Pepper of Clarksville; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; siblings, Donna Gardener and Alice (Vincent) Wernette; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parent's five of his seven siblings; daughter, Sherril Strimback and son, Steven Strimback. Funeral services were held on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Koops Funeral Chapel in lake Odessa. Burial took place immediately following at lakeside cemetery with Military Honors. Memorials in Whit's name can be given to the Lake Odessa library.
