Lake Odessa Wave Times, 21 Jul 1916

Elvin Leroy, son of Roy and Estella Strong, was born in Campbell township, 
Ionia county, Michigan, September 29, 1907, and departed this life July 12, 
1916 at the age of eight years, nine months and thirteen days.

At the age of seven years he began his school work at Carlton Center and later 
came to the Mill school, where through his time was short, he leaves a 
brilliant record.

Elvin was a child of cheerful disposition and unusual activity, always willing 
to lend his aid when ever he could.  He came to his death very suddenly at the 
home of his grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Moses Fry, where he was spending a 
portion of his vacation.  He leaves to mourn his loss his parents and one 
little brother Gerald besides many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held from the old order Dunkard church, conducted by Rev. 
Joseph Brovont with Elder P. B. Messner assisting.
