Friends of Miss Lucille Strong, 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Strong, of 
Easton Township, were shocked to learn of her death which occurred at an early 
hour this morning at the home of her aunt, Dr. Bess Strong, 419 High Street.  
Lucille had lived with her aunt and grandmother, Mrs. Emory Strong, for a 
number of years and was a student in the ninth grade of the Ionia High 
School.  Though it had been known for some time that her heart was quite bad 
she had seemed to be as well as ever Friday evening when she retired.  
Wednesday evening she with her aunt, her grandmother, Mrs. Strong, and Mr. and 
Mrs. Orin Stone and daughter Lucy, attended grand opera at Grand Rapids Friday 
evening and attended the services at the Methodist Episcopal Church with Dr. 
Strong.

About 3 o’clock this morning Dr. Strong noticed that Lucille, who was sleeping 
in an adjoining room to her own seemed to be breathing rather heavily and she 
at once went in with her.  The little girl gasped a couple of times and was 
gone, never awakening from her sleep.

Lucille was born in Easton township, May 10, 1908 and was the only daughter of 
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Strong.  Besides her parents she is survived by four 
brothers, Emory Strong, Normand Strong, Eldon Strong, all at home and Maurice 
Strong who attends Albion College.  She is also survived by her aunt, Dr. Bess 
Strong and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Emory Strong.  Lucille attended the 
Sunday school at the Church of Christ.  The funeral will be held from the 
residence of Dr. Strong Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock.  Rev. C. J. Kruse of 
the Methodist Episcopal Church will officiate.  Burial will take place in 
Highland Park cemetery.
