Strong, well and widely known as an Ionia county pioneer, was found dead in his bed on Friday morning of last week. He retired in apparent good health on the evening previous, and it is therefore quite probably that the cause was heart failure. He was 64 years of age at the time of his death. Mr. Strong was born in Cayuga county New York, and removed from there to the township of Keene, 46 years ago, at the age of nineteen years, and settled on the farm now owned by Willard Hawley. The family surviving him consists of his wife, a son, Emory F. Strong, ex-supervisor of Easton, and four daughters, Mrs. Frank D. M. Davis of this city, Mr. L. O Hunter, of Saranac, and Mrs. H. M. Trask and Mrs. D. C. Trask of Manistee. Norman Strong, of Reedsport, New York, and Henry Strong of Dansville, Mich., were brothers of the deceased, and were in attendance at the funeral.
