May 9 & 1, 1935 E.F. Strong, 35, died at the Ionia hospital Wednesday evening following an illness of the past four or five years. Mr. Strong was taken to the hospital two weeks ago for treatment of diabetes and complications which caused his death. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank N. Strong, born in Easton township July, 1899. He attended the Welch school and later the Ionia high school, and Michigan State college where he took a course in buttermaking, a trade which he followed until the last few years until his health failed. He was employed in Bay City for a number of years but has spent the last four years in Ionia with his parents. Surviving are his parents, and three brothers, Maruice of Detroit, Norman H. and Eldon W., of Ionia. Funeral services will be conducted from the Stone funeral home Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock with interment at the family lot at Highland Park cemetery. Saturday May 11, 1935 Funeral services were conducted at the Stone funeral home Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock for E.F. Strong, 35, whose death occurred Wednesday evening at the Ionia Hospital. Rev. Paul Stewart conducted the services and bearers were his three brothers, Maurice, Norman and Eldon Strong and three classmates, Burton Sibley, William Bannon and Hazen Hines. Interment was held at the family lot at Highland Park cemetery. Relatives attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Strong, Mrs. Cassie Robinson, Mrs. Elva Watson, Mr. and Mrs. George Stark and Mrs. Ruth Stark and daughter of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Dana Schuler and Miss Isabell Robinson, of Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Engleman and daughter Caroline, of Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Strong, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Strong and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Strong of Remus; and William Devinie and son, Albert, of Bath.
