Hastings Reminder, 10 Feb 1981

Mr. Richard M. Strong, 57, of 822 Washington Blvd., died Monday, February 9, 
1981 at St. Mary’s Hospital.  He was born March 15, 1923 in Hastings, the son 
of Roy and Estella (Fry) Strong.  He was a graduate of Woodland High School in 
1941.  He married Barbara Hunt August 16, 1947 in Lake Odessa.

He was employed by Fisher Body of Lansing for thirty years, retiring  January 
1, 1980.  He was a member of the Lake Odessa Congregational Church.  He was a 
Veteran of W.W.II.

Mr. Strong is survived by his wife, Barbara; four daughters, Mrs. Lee (Carol) 
Jackson and Barbara Strong, both of Lake Odessa, Sharon Strong of Ft. Ord, 
California, and Julie Strong at home; one son, David at home; three 
grandchildren; one brother, Marion of Mesa, Arizona; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12, from the Lake 
Odessa Congregational Church with Rev. James Hulett officiating.  Burial will 
be in Lakeside Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Lake Odessa 
Fire Department and Ambulance Service.  Mr. Strong reposes at the Pickens-Koops 
Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa.  Family and friends may meet Tuesday and 
Wednesday, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
