Sentinel-Std. - Monday, Oct 10, 1938

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, October 9 at 2 o'clock 
from the Myers funeral home at 148 East Main street for Elton Strong, 29, 
who died Friday morning. Rev. A.J. Westmaas, pastor of the First 
Presbyterian church in Ionia officiated at the services. Interment was at 
Highland Park cemetery.

Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Fannie Vapos, Mrs. Earl Davi(???) Mrs. Ed. 
Timmerman, Mrs. Ernest Younger and Miss Isabell Kress.

Chandler Haight of Ionia, accompanied by Mrs. Chandler Haight, jr. sang 
musical selections.

Pallbearers were Murrel W. Jinks, Ed. Timmerman, Fred M. Kidd, jr. Martin 
Schramm, Charles Kench and Ray K. Clark.

Those attending the services from away were Mr. and Mrs. John Mueller, sr. 
Mr. and Mr. William Weizel, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Behrens, Mr. and Mrs. 
Rheinhold Behrens and Clifford, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mueller, Mr. and Mrs. Ed 
Kress, Genevieve Kress and Fred Krohn of Saginaw; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kress, 
jr. of Hastings, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Osborne of Jackson, Mrs. Isabell Kress 
of Imlay City, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kress and Lawrence Kress of Chicago, 
Mrs. Nora Strong of Ann Arbor, Maurice Strong, Mrs. George Stark, Mrs. Eva 
Watson and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Trask of Durand; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Engelman 
and Miss Carol Engelman of Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Gale Strong, Mr. and 
Mrs. Roy Strong and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Lueder of Remus, Mr. and Mrs. Daney 
Schuler and daughter Ruth of Lansing.
