Strong, 36, of Lake City was fatally injured Wednesday night at Grand Rapids when his station wagon crushed into the side of the engine of a double header freight train at Grandville. He died at St.Mary's hospital from a skull fracture, compound fracture of the leg and chest injuries several hours after the accident. According to police officers the car struck the train at the Chespeake and Ohio tracks and was traveling south and he was thrown from the car 38 feet from the point of impact. Mr. Strong was born and lived his earlier life in Clarksville and was a graduate of the high school. He was the son of Mrs M.A. Harvey of Clarksville and Loren J. Strong of Marne. Mr. Strong owned and operated an appliance store at Lake City. Other survivors are three daughters and a sister, Mrs.Paul DeKoning of E.Lansing.
