Stump, 9553 Keefer Hwy., 77, died Saturday, June 14 at a Lansing hospital. He was born April 4, 1903 in Westphalia, the son of William Stump and Theresa Thoma. He was a retired farmer. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Portland; three sons, Phillip of Portland, William of Ionia, and Patrick of Lansing; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Ellen Morgridge of Charlevoix, Mrs. Janice Manning and Mrs. Carleen Kissane, both of Portland; and Miss Barbara Stump of Lansing; 16 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Matt Stump of Morrison Lake; and a sister, Mrs. Rose Kane of Detroit. A rosary will be said Monday at 8 p.m. at Neller Funeral Home. Parish rosary and Knights of Columbus rosary will be held Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. He was a member of the Dads of Foreign Wars, St. Patrick’s Church and the Knights of Columbus. Funeral mass will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. from St. Patrick’s Church in Portland, The Rev. Fr. Donald Weber will officiate. Burial will be in Portland Cemetery.
