Both died Tuesday at hurly hospital, Flint, as a result of wood alcohol poisoning. Until recently both had been life long residents of Ionia. Benjamin was a World War veteran having served 22 months over seas with the A. E. F. During his services he suffered shrapnel wounds in line of duty. He enlisted when but 17 years of age. Services here were directly from the train at 11: 20 a.m. Burial was at Highland Park cemetery. Rev. J. H. Green officiating. Pall bearers for Benjamin all were members of the American Legion of which he was a member. They were Peter Swanson. D. O. Mellinger, Lawrence Hale and Delmar Wood. Pall bearers for Jay Sturdevant were: Herbert Ross, Archie Preston, Roy Horrocks and Joseph Turner. They are survived by Mrs. Sturdevant and her daughter, both of Detroit.
