Harry J. Sturm, 65, of Lansing passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at Sparrow 
Hospital in Lansing.  Harry was born on July 22, 1948 in St. Johns, the son of 
Gerald and Vada (Bissell) Sturm. 

He proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War from 
1968-1969.  He worked at General Motors in Lansing for 35 years retiring in 
2003.  He married the love of his life, Donna G. Kaiser, on Sept. 22, 1973, in 
Ionia County.

Harry is loved and survived by his wife Donna and their children, Lisa and 
Leroy Hotchkiss of Ionia, Stacy and Jim Simons of East Lansing, Tina and T.J. 
Ellena, Nancy and Chris Thrasher, all of Lansing; 13 grandchildren; his father-
in-law, Donald Kaiser of East Lansing; a sister-in-law, Jeri Sturm of Lyons; 
two brother-in-laws, Randy (Bro) and Nancy Potter of East Lansing, Steve and 
Linda Yatchak of Florida; several nieces and nephews. 

Harry was preceded by his parents; two brothers, John and Anthony; two sisters, 
Maretta and Anita; and a son-in-law, William Peabody. 

Funeral services will be noon on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Wayside Chapel, 518 
N. College Road, Mason with Pastor Carolyn Hastings officiating.  Visitation 
will be one hour before the service at church.  Memorials contributions may be 
given to the Humane Society.  Envelopes will be available at the service.  
Funeral care has been entrusted to Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding.  
The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Stephan Burton and to 
Harry's nurse; Maryann of Sparrow Health/Neurological Unit for the wonderful 
care and concern given to Harry.
