B. H. Succop, died at her home, 422 Rich street, Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. Mrs. Succop had been suffering for some time with a heart ailment, but did not become seriously ill until two days ago. Mrs. Succop was the daughter of Professor and Mrs. John Riedel and was born in Ft. Wayne, Ind., August 15, 1868. On October 29, 1890, she became the bride of Rev. B.H. Succop who served pastorates in several Indiana churches, and came to Ionia with her husband 40 years ago, when he became pastor of the St. Johns Lutheran church here, a charge he faithfully served until his death June 29, 1934. Surviving Mrs. Succop are two sons, Martin and Ted, and two daughters, Margaret and Gertrude, all of Ionia; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Esther Succop, of Grand Rapids; three grandchildren, three brothers, J.M. Riedel, of Ft. Wayne; Rev. C.G. Riedel, Detroit, and William Riedel, Detroit. Funeral services will be attended from the house at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, April 25, at 2:30 o’clock from the St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran church on North Jefferson street. Rev. R.A. Rook, pastor, will officiate and burial will be at Highland Park cemetery. ------------- Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Succop, who died at her home on Rich street Wednesday morning, were held Saturday afternoon with a 2:30 o’clock service from the house and a 3 o’clock from the St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran church. Rev. R.A. Rook, pastor, officiated and interment was at Highland Park cemetery. Music was furnished by the teacher, W.C. Rakow, and the children of the Christian Day school rendered a short hymn. The flowers were in charge of Miss Maxine Bielow, Miss Pauline Gierman and Miss Jeanne Meisling. Honorary pallbearers will William Warnke Sr., Louis Melzow, Henry Storch, William Speckin, Peter Diehm and William Gellendin; active bearers were W.C. Rakow, Edward J. Karnatz, Martin Ruehs, Herbert Rubach, Otto Ruehs, Jr., and Raymond Miller. Out of town friends and relatives were Mrs. Esther Succop and children, of Grand Rapids; Philip Klenk, of Sparta; Otto Klenk, of Sparta; Miss Winifired Klenk, of Grand Rapids; J.M.E. Riedel, of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Riedel, of Ft. Wayne, Ind. Rev. C.G.Riedel, of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. William Riedel, of Detroit; Miss O.J. List, of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. A.C.F. Winges and family, of Pontiac; Rev. and Mrs. Beyer, of Fowler; Rev. and Mrs. Coellner, of St. Johns; Rev. and Mrs. O.M. Dotzman, of Howard City; Rev. X. Lederer and daughter, of Conklin; Mr. and Mrs. M.C. Mertz, of Conklin; and Mrs. Minnie Jahnke, of Lansing.
