The Ionia Standard, Friday, December 22, 1905

Lapeer, Mich., December 18—returning home from some Christmas shopping, Mrs. 
Jeremiah Sullivan was struck and instantly killed by a Grand Trunk engine this 
afternoon.  There was one train standing still and another approaching the 
crossing at south Main street.  Mrs. Sullivan evidently became confused, and 
stepped right in front of the moving train.  

She was 76 years old, and came here forty years ago from Ireland.  Three 
daughters of the aged woman survive her at Ionia, Metamora and Lapeer.
