Sullivan, 55, of 642 Lafayette street died Saturday evening at 6 o’clock at the Ionia County Memorial hospital where he had been a patient for three weeks. He had been in ill health since suffering a stroke in 1953. He was born in Campbell township October 23, 1900 the son of John L. and Nellie Sullivan. A graduate of Clarksville high school he attended Michigan State Normal college at Ypsilanti for two years and taught school for two years. He was employed in the commercial department of the Michigan Bell Telephone company for several years and worked at Willow Run plant during World War II and following the war worked at Kaiser-Frazer until he became ill. He was married to Rosalie Coffey in Mt. Pleasant December of 1926 and she died in 1931. In 1934 he was married to Angela Doyle. Surviving are two sons, Thomas J. of Washington D.C., and James of Grand Rapids; one daughter, Mrs. June Allen of Lyons; five grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Sullivan of Ionia; three brothers, Kenneth and Thomas of Grand Rapids and Elwood of Centreville and one sister, Mrs. Marguerite Rosenberg of Alto. Mr. Sullivan was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Ypsilanti. Rosary will be recited Monday evening at 8:30 at Boynton funeral home. Requiem high mass will be sung Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock at SS. Peter and Paul church and interment will be at Woodlawn cemetery in Grand Rapids.
