ESTHER L. SUMMERS
Portland
Esther Lorraine Summers, age 90, passed away March 13, 2017. She was born 
August 7,1926 the daughter of Roy and Carrie (Parks) McCrumb. 

Esther was a devoted employee to Portland Public Schools for 26 years and was 
a beloved bus driver for 17 years. She was an avid bowler, loved quilting, 
and enjoyed reading as of lately. Esther was known to alway "shoot from the 
hip" and had a no-nonsense attitude about life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 38 years, Leroy "Doc" 
Summers; two sisters, four brothers and a son-in-law. Surviving are her four 
children, Joseph Michael (Tami) Summers. Randolf James (Artie) Summers, Kim 
Leroy (Linda) Summers and Jodi Lorraine Delo; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will beheld at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 
Portland Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon following the 
service at 2 :00 p.m.at the Portland VFW #4090.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Esther's honor to 
the Portland VFW $4090, 1324 E. Bridge Street, Portland, MI 48875.
